ERCL is a specialist international upstream oil and gas consultancy that provides a wide range of high quality geo-technical services (including complementary strategic and advisory services), whilst making full use of modern technology and work practices.
The work that ERCL carries out with governments and national oil companies is recognised throughout the world. We provide strategic and advisory services, together with associated licensing round management and training.
Our work with oil companies and service companies ranges from the identification and acquisition of exploration properties, through to exploration and development, project management (including gas commercialization), asset valuations, acquisitions and divestments.

Governments & National Oil Companies
Part of our core business is supporting Governments and NOC’s with strategy, license rounds, technical work, bid evaluation and capacity building. Our facilities include data rooms that provide secure access to conference rooms and project rooms with LCD/plasma screens, digital projectors, technical workstations, plotting and data management.
ERCL staff have provided support to the Mozambique INP and ENH for many years leading ultimately to the successful discovery of gas in the Rovuma Basin and the successful Mozambique Fifth Round. Current engagements include Lebanon, Mozambique, Namibia, Palestine and Sierra Leone.
Advisory / Training

Part of our core business is supporting Governments and NOC’s with strategy, license rounds, technical work, capacity building including on-going support for both TCM and OCM meetings. ERCL staff has provided support to the Mozambique INP and ENH for many years leading ultimately led to the successful discovery of gas in the Rovuma Basin.
Exploration / Appraisal
ERCL is an international exploration and production consultancy company. We are involved with numerous on-going exploration and development projects for both large and small companies including many of the leading oil and gas companies in the world.
ERCL staff work with you to provide a unique insight into your projects utilising our experience and technology to assist with key decision points in the exploration and appraisal lifecycle to help realise the full potential of your investments.
ERCL can assist in the promotion of your assets though farm-outs or technical representation.

Technology / R&D
ERCL is an industry leader in the application of leading technology to create innovative solutions on our projects. We have a portfolio of leading geoscience software products (including IHS-Kingdom, Petrel and Eclipse) and cutting edge hardware providing us with excellent 3D visualisation, mapping and plotting capabilities.
ERCL is a leading participator and contributor to a number of R&D projects being undertaken with our partners at a number of key universities.
ERCL has a highly experienced team of geologists who have worked in almost every petroleum province since 1971. We are able to specialise in both exploration and development projects and utilise the latest technology on an individual basis or as part of a wider team. The team is further supported by a network of associates providing specialised support in areas such as basin modelling, sedimentology and biostratigraphy.
ERCL regularly undertakes field work with recent projects within Fuertaventura, Canary Islands, Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique and Namibia.
ERCL has a highly experienced team of geophysicists who have worked in almost every petroleum province since 1971. We are able to specialise in both exploration and development projects and utilise the latest technology on an individual basis or as part of a wider team. The team also includes a rock physics team, specialising in the use of attributes to provide quantitative interpretation and the capability to provide processing QC of your seismic data.
The team is further supported by a network of associates providing specialised support in areas such as gravity & magnetics, survey planning QC and field operations.
Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering capability is provided by our senior team and network of associates who are presently working on multiple development projects in Europe, Africa and Asia, including offshore gas development, onshore heavy oil development and conventional oil development projects.
ERCL has both Eclipse and Petrel software in-house for use on our projects.
Due Diligence Evaluation
ERCL offers a due diligence advisory service to assist its Clients with evaluation of exploration and development opportunities, including evaluation of blocks in licensing rounds and opportunities available via mergers, acquisitions and divestments. ERCL provides multi-disciplinary teams of professional staff and associates, including geologists and geophysicists, reservoir and petroleum engineers and petroleum economists in providing technical and economic assessments of oil and gas fields.
ERCL has invested in GIS (Geographical Information System) technology to assist in the management and evaluation of project geotechnical information including geology, seismic, gravity and magnetics. This data is then integrated with regional satellite data, digital elevation models and cultures data to create a digital database that can be used from base line environmental assessment though to exploration and development in both the field and in the office.
Published GIS projects utilising the ArcReader (freeware) application are routinely supplied as part of the key client deliverables to our projects.
